the female trainee faun who splits Zandra’s kneecap in hand-to-hand combat during the Capture the Flag games, member of the blue team; name meaning ‘a female deer’.

Dormitory— rooms where squadmembers live during training or duties.

Draconis— Latin for dragon.

Dragons— light beings who historically protect humans, have keen sight, various colored scales depending on nationality, spiky ridges, leathery wings, horse-like faces, scaly taloned hands with opposable thumbs, and use mindspeak to communicate. Dragons in general retain the qualities of being fire breathing, ingenious, discerning, extremely sensitive, and wise.

Dryads— a nymph, resembles a branch of a tree, helps hamadryads protect the realm of trees; native language: treespeak.

Dwarves— light beings, architects, diggers, and tunnelers.

Elizabeth— a cadet wildflower limoniade nymph and roommate of Mellie, a member of the S.E., nicknamed Lizzy, full name Leucanthemum Superbum; name means ‘oath of God, consecrated one’.

Ella— a trainee elf, friend of Gar-Rick, on the blue team, bests Mellie at the flagpole; name means ‘elf, fair, beautiful, sustaining friend’.
